Dust off your cowboy boots and get your best plaid shirt because the Strathmore Stampede is BACK, baby!
After cancelling the Stampede last year, the team at the Strathmore and District Agricultural Society (SDAS) has been working hard to see if this year’s festivities could go forward.
“We received a letter at the start of April from Alberta Health Services detailing the plan for the return of fans to rodeos,” explained Ryan Schmidt, CEO of the SDAS “But essentially, if vaccines are keeping pace and cases are under control at the time, they are planning on lifting all restrictions on attendance by the end of July. There will probably be some public health measures that we need to have in place still.”
The World Professional Chuckwagon Association, professional rodeo and the world-famous Running With The Bulls Event will all be back breathing life back into the Strathmore Ag Grounds. Tickets go on sale May 1, 2021, and the event will be hosted July 30 – August 2, 2021, at the Agriterra Strathmore Ag Stadium.
“We are just so excited to move forward on this! We have three months to get everything ready, so we will be working around the clock but we will put together a great show for Strathmore, Wheatland County, and anybody else who is coming!” he continued.
The Strathmore Stampede contributes approximately $4 million annually to the local economy and sees 40,000 attendees
through the gates each year.
All tickets rolled over into 2021 will be accepted. All season ticket holders will be called to renew their seats.
In the case that the 2021 Strathmore Stampede is cancelled due to AHS’ COVID-19 public health measures, all tickets will be refunded.
